Louis Henry Taylor, 37, of L'Ardoise, died Tuesday at the Halifax
Infirmary following a brief illness. Son of Mary O. Taylor and the late
Helaire Taylor of L'Ardoise, he is survived by his wife the former
Beatrice Roache of L'Ardoise, one daughter Shirley Ann and one son Louis
Jr.; five sisters. Joan (Mrs. Michael Burkey), Julie (Mrs. Roy Wilks)and
Gertie (Mrs. Daniel Mombourquette) all of Halifax; Hilda (Mrs. Raymond
Pottie) of L'Ardoise; and Rita (Mrs. Francis MacKey) of Toronto. Remains
are resting at Cruckshanks funeral home, Robie Street and funeral service
will take place Friday at 9 a m. from St. Mary's Basilica, Halifax, with
interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
ALMA THERESA TAYLOR - NOV. 25, 1983 Mrs. Alma
Theresa Taylor, 60, West L'Ardoise, died Friday November 25, at the Strait
Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in L'Ardoise she was a daughter of the
late Thomas Bonin and Sabin (Sampson) Bonin. She is survived by her
husband, James, Two sons, Gerard and Fred, five grandchildren, one sister,
Hattie Sampson, St. Peter's. The body is resting at the West L'Ardoise
Funeral Parlour. The funeral took place this morning at Holy Guardian
Angel Church with Rev. Basil Boudreau officiating. Interment took place in
parish cemetery.

TAYLOR, Francis (Frank) - 54, Toronto, died September 21, 1992, in St.
Catharines, Ont., as the result of an industrial accident. Born in West
L'Ardoise, Richmond County, he was a son of Mary Taylor, Halifax and the
late Helair Taylor. He worked as a steeplejack most of his life. He is
survived by four sons, Danny, Dartmouth; Stephen, Wally, Chris, all of
Toronto; three brothers, Walter, Chuck, Herman, all of Halifax; five
sisters, Joan, Hilda, Julia, Gertrude, all of Halifax; Rita, Toronto; five
grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Louis, Fred. The body
is in Newediuk Funeral Home, Rexdale, Ont., visiting 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4,
7-9 p.m. Friday, where funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in
Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Toronto. Donations may be made to Canadian
Cancer
Society.

TAYLOR, Mary Odille - 94, Halifax, died July 1, 1995, at the home of her
daughter, Gertrude, with whom she resided. Born in L'Ardoise, Richmond
Co., she was a daughter of the late Etienne and Julie Briand. She lived in
L'Ardoise, moving to Halifax in 1953. While she was living in L`Ardoise,
she was a religious educator and taught French catechism. While in
Halifax, she was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church and Our Lady of
Perpetual Help Church, Rockingham. She was wellknown for her knitting
skills. She was a former resident of Dr. Samuel Prince Manor where she
resided for 22 years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. Surviving are daughters, Joan Burkey, Julia Wilks, Gertrude (Mrs.
Daniel Mombourquette), Halifax; Rita McKay, Toronto sons, Walter,
Halifax; Chuck, Sackville; Herman, Truro; 37 grandchildren; 30
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Helair; daughter, Hilda
Pottie; sons, Louis, Frederick, Frank; sisters, Celeste Thurlow, Catherine
Peters, Delphine Landry, Carrie Martell; brothers, Charles, Tranquill;
grandsons, Barry Taylor, Raymond Pottie Jr. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today
in Atlantic Funeral Home, Bayers Road. Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Church, Rockingham. Cremation to follow. Burial 3 p.m.
Friday in Mount Calvary Cemetery, L'Ardoise. Memorial service August 12 in

died December 27, 1997, in
Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in L'Ardoise, he
was a son of the late Louis and Angelique (Berthier) Taylor.
Surviving are sons, Gerard
and Fred, both of L'Ardoise; grandchildren, Jacqueline,
Michelle, Nancy, Jill and Chantelle; great-grandchildren, Jasmine,
Jessica and Colby. Also
survived by several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his wife, the former Alma Bona; brothers, Fred,
William, Helaire; sisters, Mary Jane, Emma, Joan, Sophie; a brother and
sister in infancy. He was the last surviving member of his immediate

TANNER (Sancon), Dorothy Marie - Halifax, wife and loving companion of
Allan Steven Tanner, passed peacefully in the company of her family at
home on December 29, 1998. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Pascal
Sancon and Minnie Maude (Martell) Sancon. She was predeceased by her
parents; brother, Gerald; infant daughter, Patricia and granddaughter,
Mary-Anne. She is survived by her husband, Allan; daughters, Peggy (Mrs.
Gregory MacIntyre), Barbara (Mrs. Gary Staples) and Dorothy (Mrs. Daniel
O'Reilly); sons, Gerald and Patrick, all residing in Halifax; 12
grandchildren; four great-grandchil-dren; sister, Mrs. Muriel Burns and
several nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong member of St. Michael's
Parish, carried out volunteer work for the Cubs in the Metro area, was an
avid gardener and sports enthusiast, and a person who loved animals and
nature, as well as the simple things in life. She was greatly loved as a
mother, grandmother, friend and confidant and will be greatly missed by
her family and a wide circle of friends. Arrangements have been entrusted
to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Herring Cove Road, Halifax. A funeral
service will be held in St. Michael's Church, Herring Cove Road, at 2 p.m.
today, December 31, with Rev. Cairns officiating. A reception is to follow
at the church. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made
to the Cancer Research Foundation, the Red
Cross Society or the
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

St. Peter's, died in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, March 6, 2002.
Born April 6, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Placide
"Peter" and Sophie May (Evong) Roach (L'Ardoise). She is
survived by sisters, Jane (Carl) Croft, L'Ardoise; Catherine (Joe) Laben,
L'Ardoise; Sarah (Lavin) Richards, French Cove; May (Clifford)
Mombourquette, Lower Sackville; brother, Lauchie Roach, Port Hood; son,
Louis (Jes) Taylor, Spryfield; three grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; special niece, Marie; several nieces and nephews;
special friend, Paula Sampson. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband, Louis; daughter, Shirley Ann (McLay) Sampson;
sisters,Elizabeth (Freddy) Bona, Theresa (Gordon) LeRue, Jane in infancy;
brother, Louis in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4,
7-9 p.m. Friday in L'Ardoise Funeral Home. Funeral will be held 10 a.m.
Saturday in Holy Guardian Angels Church, L'Ardoise, Rev. John MacIntyre

THERIAULT, Evelyn Theresa - It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce our mother, Evelyn Theresa Theriault (Sampson), 83, passed away peacefully with her family at her side in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, Halifax, on Sunday, August 15, 2004. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Sampson) Sampson. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Sam" in 1980. She is survived by her daughters, Diane, Dartmouth; Kathy Tait (Chris), Hammonds Plains; Suzanne Brown (Stephen/Jug); sons, Donald (Lynn), Buz (Suzanne), Dartmouth; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Evelyn retired in 1986 from The Halifax Correctional Centre and prior to that had worked at Rock Head Prison. She loved being with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her interests included a love of music, political discussion and time spent in the sun and at the beach. She is the last surviving member of her family, and was predeceased by her brother, Patrick, and sisters, Alice, Marie "Tootsie", Margaret "Maggie" Holl, and Florence McIsaac. Visitation will be in Snow's Funeral Home, Halifax, today 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday in St. Mary's Basilica, Spring Garden Road, at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow, Rev. Robert Floyd officiating. Cremation to follow with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.

THOMSON, Clara Mary - 98, died peacefully at home on July 10, 2007. Born
in Rockdale, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Urban and Sabean
Clements. Mom was happiest when she was surrounded by children and music.
She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. She was
predeceased by her husband, David and son, James; sisters, Margaret
Newberry, Mary Hill, Alvina Williams MacIntyre and Anne Robbins. She is
survived by sons, David (Cathy), Halifax; Harold (Barb) Comox, B.C.;
Robert, William (Christy) and Wayne (Karen), all of Dartmouth; daughters,
Shirley (Jerry) Pottie, Calgary, Alta.; Patricia, Betty and Linda (Brian)
Wambolt, all of Dartmouth; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dartmouth Funeral
Home, Queen Street. Funeral mass will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St.
Paul's Church, Windmill Road, Father Terrance O'Toole officiating.
Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will be in Gate of
Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in Clara's name may be made to
Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Special thanks to Dr. V. Gregus and the
