L'Ardoise- Joseph Rehberg of L'Ardoise was buried after a funeral service
at the Church of the Guardian Angel, L'Ardoise, Richmond County. He died
at Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax after a short illness at the age of 62.
He served with the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II. he is survived by
his wife Serence; one brother Murdock; five sisters. Ada (Mrs. George
Barrett); Margaret (Mrs. Richard Sampson), all of L'Ardoise; Sarah (Mrs.
Fred Landry), Halifax; Mrs. Blanche Martin and Delia (Mrs. Alex Bolduc),
both of Spryfield

Albert E. ROY, 84, L'Ardoise, died Friday, Dec. 8, 1989 at Sydney
Community Health Centre. Born in Limoliou, Quebec, he was the son of the
late Amadie and Marie Louise (LESSARD) ROY. During World War II he served
as petty officer with the Royal Canadian Navy. He is survived by his wife
the former Elizabeth MOMBOURQUETTE; one daughter, Betty Ann (Mrs. Lawrence
REBIKER), Sackville, N. S.; two sons, Bernard, Howie Centre and Paul,
Halifax; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was
predeceased by brothers Omer and Joseph and sisters, Alice and Florence.
The body will be in Holy Guardian Angel Funeral Home, L'Ardoise, after 6
pm today. The funeral mass will be held Monday at 10 am in Holy Guardian
Angel Church, L'Ardoise with Rev. J. J. MacDONALD officiating. Interment,
under the direction of the Alex A. Morrison Funeral Home, will be made in
Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the L'Ardoise Cemetery
Fund of the Canadian Cancer Society.

REHBERG, Alvina - 100, Oceanview Manor, Eastern Passage, died February 26,
1993, in the manor. Born in L'Ardoise, Richmond County, she was a daughter
of the late William and Sarah (Sampson) Peters. She is survived by four
sons, Joseph, George, Tommy, all of Eastern Passage; Lawrence,
Lawrencetown; four daughters, Hilda (Mrs. Walter Soward), Marion (Mrs. Roy
Latter), Mrs. Dorothy Ward, Edna (Mrs. Lloyd Eddy), all of Eastern
Passage; brother, Charles, L'Ardoise; two sisters, Mrs. Angeline McNutt,
Halifax; Mrs. Alice Dumas, Lynn, Mass.; 34 grandchildren; 55
greatgrandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her husband, Joseph; three daughters, Mary, Kathleen, Alexandra. The body
is in J. Albert Walker and Sons Funeral Home, Cole Harbour, where funeral
will be 11 a.m. today, Rev. Marion Weagle and Pastor Ted Yuke officiating.
Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Eastern Passage.

16, 1995, in Victoria General Hospital. Born in L'Ardoise, she was a
daughter of the late Felix and Genevieve Pottie. She was a member of St.
Michael's Roman Catholic Church and the Golden Age Social Centre.
Surviving are a son, Leo, Halifax; daughter, Wanda Slaunwhite, Lakelands;
sister, Cecile (Mary) (Mrs. Walter Nordin), Halifax; 10 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her husband, John; sons, Russell, Harold; brothers, Felix, Peter, Wilfred,

Falmouth, Hants Co., died November 2, 1995, in Hants Community Hospital,
Windsor. Born in L'Ardoise, Richmond Co., he was a son of the late Peter
and Mary (Bona) Rehberg. He retired in 1965 after 20 vears at HMCS
Dockyard and at the Halifax Shipyard. He was a veteran of the Second World
War, serving overseas in the Canadian Army. He was a member of Hants
County branch 9, Royal Canadian Legion, Windsor and St. John's Roman
Catholic Church, Windsor. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Jean

previous to retirement, had been a self-employed contractor. Surviving are

ROY (Mombourquette), Elizabeth M. - L'Ardoise,
passed away peacefully April 11, 2002, in Richmond Villa, St. Peters. Born
in L'Ardoise, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Barrett)
Mombourquette. She lived most of her life in L'Ardoise and in earlier
years was active in community work. She was a great mom, grandmother and
great-grandmother, and was loved by all. She will be greatly missed by all
those who loved her and knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Betty
Ann (Lawrence) Rediker, L'Ardoise; sons, Paul (Mildred), Truro; Bernard
(Barbara), Howie Centre, Sydney; sisters, Theresa Johnson, Halifax; Laura
Forgarty, British Columbia; brothers, Dan, Halifax; Albert, L'Ardoise;
eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and
nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Albert Emile; brothers,
Felix and Paul; sisters, Margaret MacAvoy, Agnes Campbell, Lillian Ellis,
Annie Mae LeRue; sisters in infancy, Anita and Genevieve. Cremation has
taken place. There will be no visitation. Service to be held 2 p.m.

RANEY, Michael Emmett "Mickey" - 80, Point Michaud, died Tuesday,
November 1, 2005, in Richmond Villa. Born in Point Michaud, he was the son
of the late Michael Raney and Mary Agnes (Gracie) Raney. He was a lobster
fisherman and a boat builder for many years. He is survived by his wife,
Marion (Thibeau) Raney; daughters, Betty (Donnie) Gillan, Point Michaud;
Lillian, at home; granddaughters, Dawn Gillan, Ottawa, Ont.; and Alison
(Les) Cameron, Antigonish; grandson, Michael Cook; sisters, Mary MacKay,
Agnes Matheson, Grand River; Martha Gracie, Point Michaud; Betty Dube,
Ontario; brothers, John, Joseph, Point Michaud; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Catherine; brother, Richard, and adopted
daughter, Mary (White) Cook. He will be missed by his roommate, Ron Dupe.

ROBBINS, Anne Martha - 101, died peacefully in Melville Lodge, Halifax, on
February 26, 2007. Born in Rockdale, Cape Breton, on November 9, 1905, she
was a daughter of the late Urban and Sabean Clements. She was predeceased
by her husband Joseph Clayton "Ginger"; a daughter and a son in infancy;
sisters, Margaret Newberry, Mary Hill, and Alvina Williams MacIntyre;
son-in-law, Gerald Legere. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by
her family. She is survived by sister, Clara Thomson, Dartmouth;
daughters, Clara (Rev. Richard) Hartnett, Amherst; Joan Legere, Dartmouth;
Carol (Peter) Weal, Dartmouth; sons, Robert (Sharon), Winnipeg; Ronald
(Patsy), Dartmouth; Kenneth (Elizabeth), London, Ont. Nanny Robbins was a
very special blessing to all of her 14 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Nanny was happiest
when surrounded by her family, especially when being entertained by her
young great-grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of love and faith.

REHBERG, Walter Edward - 89, September 28, 1917-April 3, 2007, died
Tuesday in Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. He was born in L'Ardoise
to the late Peter and Mary (Bona) Rehberg. He is survived by sisters,
Margaret Peterson and Mary Conway; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces
and grandnephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John (twin), Leo,
DeBlois, Gregory, Charlie, and George; sisters, Agnes Dunn, Martha Perry,
and May Firth. Walter served a number of years in the air force, then
later worked on the waterfront in Halifax until his retirement. Walter was
an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending
time with his cats and playing cards. He was always open to a good game of
crib. We would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Richmond
Villa (Beachside), Dr. Romeo Tan, and the staff of Strait Richmond
Hospital for their care and treatment of Walter. Visitation will be on
Saturday, April 7, from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, April 8, from 2-4 and 7-9

SAMPSON (Rehberg), Margaret M.J. - 97, L'Ardoise, passed away on May 15,
2008, in St. Anne's Nursing Home in Arichat. Margaret was a loving and
dedicated mother to all her children. She provided a stable background and
steady influence throughout the years. We were truly blessed to have a
mother we admired, respected and who supported us to achieve our goals in
life. She was a courageous lady with a wonderful sense of humour, a strong
sense of family and will always be remembered. Born in L'Ardoise, she was
a daughter of the late Michael and Sarah Rehberg. She is survived by
daughters, Joan Gould (Bill), Shirley Gracie (Raymond), Lorraine McManus
(Peter), Carol Sampson, Tina MacDonald (Duncan), all of L'Ardoise; Patsy
Whalen (David), Halifax; Vera Doucette (Wayne), Antigonish; sons, John
Sampson (Elaine), and Gary Sampson (Hope), both of L'Ardoise. She is also
survived by sister, Delia Bolduc. Margaret had 20 grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Sampson; son, Richard in infancy;
brothers, Joseph, John and Murdock Rehberg; sisters, Ada Barrett, Blanche
Martin and Sarah Landry. Visitation will take place in Holy Guardian Angel
Funeral Home today from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. A funeral
