JONES, Jean - 54, Sarnia, Ont., died June 6, 1997, in Sarnia. Born July 30, 1942, in L'Ardoise, she was a daughter of Mary Margaret (Sampson) O'Brien, L'Ardoise, and the late Charles O'Brien. She was very active in the Canadian Cancer Society and was a Terry Fox team member in Sarnia. She worked with H.J. Heinz for many years and later with Polysar Plastics in Sarnia until her illness. Surviving are her husband, Ron; daughters, Shelly, Kelly, Lisa; three grandchildren; sisters, Hilda (Mrs. Malcolm Shaw), St. George, N.B.; Ann (Mrs. Joseph Briand), L'Ardoise; brothers, Raymond, Sonny, L'Ardoise; Cyril, Kentville. She was predeceased by brother, Fred. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.

JOHNSON (Landry), Lorraine - 52, Lower Sackville, died Monday, August 25, 1997, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Mary Evelyn (Landry) Landry, Halifax, and the late Henry Landry. She was a former employee of Statistics Canada. Surviving are her husband, Roland Johnson; daughter, Darlene, at home; sons, Michael, Saint John, N.B.; Shawn, at home; brothers, Dan, Hubley; Pat, Halifax; Roy, Halifax; Lawrence, Lower Sackville two grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Wednesday in Snow's Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, Normandy Drive, Halifax, Rev. Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or palliative care unit of QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site.

JONES (Martell), M. Irene - 85, Halifax, died August 8, 1999, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in L'Ardoise, Richmond Co., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Celeste (Sampson) Martell. She was a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Sienna CWL, she was also a past member of the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Women's Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; infant son, Gerald; brothers, Eddie, Harry and Gerald. She is survived by her son, Joe, L'Ardoise; daughters, Lorraine Wyatt Bond, Halifax; Doreen (Bryan) Tanner, Cole Harbour; brother, Alfred Martell, Halifax; sisters, Rose Lawrence, Monrovia, Calif.; and Lola St. Louis, Fort Erie, Ont.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. Wednesday in J. A. Snow's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Funeral mass 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Raymond March officiating. Cremation will follow with urn burial at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
